The Gold team will represent DSB at the most competitive tournaments in the area. Although the level of play will be determined mostly by the caliber of available pitching, The Gold Diablos typically play AAA and Major tournaments. This team is coached by Danny Rueckel, former pitcher and shortstop for Furman University and professional pitcher for the AAA Nationals.
The team will begin practicing in late August and will play some tournaments and doubleheaders throughout the fall. In January and February, the team will knock the cobwebs off from the off-season and practice and play a few games before taking a break for the school season. In late April, when the school season is wrapping up, the team starts practicing again and kicks off the summer of competitive baseball. From late April until early July, the Diablos play in tournaments almost every weekend with practices during the week. The season culminates with a trip to Panama City to participate in a World Series tournament.
